Greetings and Bright Blessings,
This month's Power Animal is Deer. Deer power cycles are Spring and Autumn. Some of you are laughing knowing my passion for the "Ever Growing Population of Deer" in Eastlake. There are several types of Deer but today is all about the White-Tail. This is the most common in the U.S. Deer is Gentleness and Innocence ,and the lure of adventure. The males of the Species are known for the antlers that develop. These antlers grow behind the eyes and are a weapon of self-defense, and are shed every year. Significant? The antlers grow bigger with more points up till the age of five. The energy brought by the antlered male is POWER and courage. When encountering this animal, note the rack and how many points. What significance does it have for you. (Numerology is always hanging around somewhere) The young are born with a protective color and they hardly move in the first few days of life. The Mother nurses them often. This is a significance to those with this totem. Deer makes a strong healthy connection with offspring but shields it from the outside world when it is most vulnerable. Much like human mothers sheild and care for their young. The Doe fawns will stay with the mother for up to a year whereas the young bucks leave within a few months. The Father has no part of child raising. It is all the Mother. Deer sometimes brings messages about traditional family units and roles. A reminder that we have stepped too far from the role that would be most beneficial at this time? Deer has acute senses. Hearing and sight! Deer can detect clearly at a distance , contrasts and subtle movements. Deer can hear the slightest sound from far away. Those with this totem find them selves able to detect subtle and slight movements, and will begin to hear what is not directly said. When deer shows up in your life, It is time to be gentle, especially with yourself! A new awakening is about to be born. Deer Medicine is that of innocence, awakening, courage and the lure of new adventures. So are you being gentle or forceful? Are you too critical of yourself? Others? When Deer has shown up there could be a chance for that Gentle Love to be expressed and who knows just what adventure might call to you.....
Magic and Love To All!
