Bringing Grace To Your Space
Feng Shui-an ancient Chinese system of aestethetics (is a branch of philosophy dealing with the nature of beauty, art, and taste, and with the creation and appreciation of )
Using the laws of both Heaven (astronomy) and Earth (geography) to help one improve life by receiving positive qi or chi. The term feng shui literally translates as "wind-water" in English. Qi rides the wind and scatters, but is retained when encountering water.
Historically, feng shui was used to position buildings—often spiritual and sacred structures such as tombs, also dwellings and others—in an auspicious manner(to align them with ley lines). Depending on the particular style of feng shui being used, an auspicious site could be determined by reference to local features such as bodies of water, stars, or a compass. Feng shui was suppressed in China during the cultural revolution in the 1960s, but has since seen an increase in popularity, particularly in the United States.
*Note:auspicious means literlaly looking at birds to determine signs and oracles from flight patterns, noises, flocking etc. the ex diris method of Auspice was used to include signs from things other than birds.
The history of feng shui covers 3,500+ years before the invention of the magnetic compass. Originating in Chinese astronomy, some of the current techniques can be traced to Neolithic(New Stone Age 9500-5000BC Neolithic Revolution)) China(about 7500 BC), while others were added later (most notably the Han dynasty, the Tang, the Song, and the Ming).
The astronomical history of feng shui is evident in the development of instruments and techniques. According to the Zhouli the original feng shui instrument may have been a gnomon. Chinese used circumpolar stars to determine the north-south axis of settlements. This technique explains why Shang palaces at Xiaotun lie 10° east of due north. In some cases, as Paul Wheatley observed, they bisected the angle between the directions of the rising and setting sun to find north. This technique provided the more precise alignments of the Shang walls at Yanshi and Zhengzhou. Rituals for using a feng shui instrument required a diviner to examine current sky .
The magnetic compass was invented for feng shui and has been in use since its invention. Traditional feng shui instrumentation consisted of the Luopan or the earlier south-pointing spoon (. A feng shui ruler (a later invention) may also be employedphenomena to set the device and adjust their position in relation to the device.
The Luopan
Like a conventional compass, a luopan is a direction finder. However, a luopan differs from a compass in several important ways. The most obvious difference is the Feng Shui formulas embedded in concentric rings on the surface. This is a metal plate known as the heaven dial. The metal plate typically sits on a wooden base known as the earth plate. The heaven dial rotates freely on the earth plate.
A red wire or thread that crosses the earth plate and heaven dial at 90-degree angles is the Heaven Center Cross Line, or Red Cross Grid Line. This line is used to find the direction and note position on the rings. The schematic of earth plate, heaven plate, and grid lines is part of the two cords and four hooks geometrical diagram in use since at least the Warring States period.
A conventional compass has markings for four or eight directions, while a luopan typically contains markings for 24 directions. This translates to 15 degrees per direction. Interestingly, the Sun takes approximately 15.2 days to traverse a point. If you mark a series of 24 points on the ecliptic it creates a cycle of 365.25 days, which means that each degree on a luopan approximates a terrestrial day.
A luopan does not point to the north pole of Earth. The needle of a luopan points to the south geographic pole. The Chinese word compass translates to “pointing-south needle.”
The goal of feng shui as practiced today is to situate the human built environment on spots with good chi. The "perfect spot" is a location and an axis in time .
Chi is reference to Life force energy-everything-every living thing has it. Please understand that everything in nature has energy. Even some man made objects carry their original energy. Chi is also in Feng Shui evaluated as “positive or negative force” that can be moved.
The Five Elements or Forces (wu xing) — which, according to the Chinese, are metal, earth, fire, water, and wood . They play a very important part in Chinese thought: ‘elements’ meaning generally not so much the actual substance but the forces essential to human life. Earth is a nuetral, or an equilibrium achieved when the polarities cancel each other. While the goal of Chinese medicine is to balance yin and yang in the body, the goal of feng shui has been described as aligning a city, site, building, or object with yin-yang force fields.
Yin yang are complementary opposites that interact within a greater whole, as part of a dynamic system. Everything has both yin and yang aspects, but either of these aspects may manifest more strongly in particular objects, and may ebb or flow over time. The concept of yin and yang is often symbolized by various forms of the Taijitu symbol, for which it is probably best known in western cultures.
There is an iea(especially in America) that yin and yang correspond to good and evil (Not True).

What does this have to do with anything….
"... feng shui has become an aspect of interior decorating in the Western world and alleged masters of feng shui now hire themselves out for hefty sums to tell people such as Donald Trump which way his doors and other things should hang. Feng shui has also become another New Age "energy" scam with arrays of metaphysical products ... offered for sale to help you improve your health, maximize your potential, and guarantee fulfillment of some fortune cookie philosophy that you may have had for lunch!.
No Really!
Bringing Grace To Your Space!
Lets start with clutter. The whole concept of feng shui is to allow energy to flow through your space and not et boged down. You have to have your physical envirionement under control if you are ever going to harness enrgy for magic. Those of you who have been in Mediumship understand a flow of energy is important so that you can sense vibrations, messages from spirit, and other people around you.
If your home is Ho Ho Horrendous with Knic Knacs and piles of papers you are very likely drawing on stuff from other people and other dimensions. Interesting concept. Residual energy.
And of course I already know all of you keep your space in Perfect order but for those who don’t….
Before you lug the trash can into the house and start tossing…. Make friends with the energy present. Cleanse it by smudging. Call upon your Guides, Saints or whatever you use to aid you in bringing only light and love and that all that is not of the highest and best be gone and trouble you more. When you sage you do every nook and cranny and space-even inside the dishwasher and freezer. Every drawer, closet, and attic. Allow smoke to waft into air ducts and if the furnace comes on perhaps position a burning bowl of sage but the cold air return to be sucked through the system. Sometimes you may have to repeat this exercise if you get stuck in your cleaning ritual.
Pack Rat-it is
No need for D-con here, just good sense. Do you collect? Are you a romantic that saves every single card, letter, dried flower? How about boxes of outdated clothing, toys, magazines or if you are like me-you have fat clothes-skinny clothes and in between clothes. Well suck up and start sorting-I did.
First of all I will never be a size 5 again- those were the first out the door and guess what- they were outdated? You didn’t think my daughter who wears Abercrombie would want my clothes? Ha Ha they might come back in style but by that time…she may not be a 5 anymore alas….
Records? Do some of you know what those are? There are people who do collect them. Sell them Get Money! They are not worth a lot.
Collections-what are you collecting and why? Because your Mom did and you thought it what you should do? Is it something you get enjoyment out of? Is it well dusted or packed away! Stuffed Animals-won’t go there!
Look at who you are and what you have and how does it serve you? You need to understand why you have stuff and once you figure that out it is easier to get rid of it. The rule is if you haven’t used it for 6 months-then you won’t miss it!
I am not saying that this is not overwhelming and emotional but pass items to family members, good will or even just toss it. Take it all one step at a time. Once you have cleared clutter than you can fine tune your space.
