                                Blue Moon

A Blue Moon occurs every year! There are 13 moon cycles in a year-one way or another and depending on the way they fall determines if the Blue Moon is a full moon or new moon. This year's Blue Moon falls on August 31st and is in the New Phase. Why is it the Blue Moon?? Because we already had a new moon in the month of August and this is the second one.
  It is the irregular timing-that has caused this to be termed the Blue Moon.  A moon cycle is approximately 29.5 days long so if you do the math it makes it understandabale why this phenomena occurs.  The next Blue Moon occurs in 2009 on Dec 31st and will be in it's Full stage!
  Why is this moon so important?  Because even though it may not be actually full it is just as powerful as a Full Moon and more so becasue of it's significance.
  Some would believe that a Blue Moon is only a Full Moon. Not so!  The full phase is more powerful but the New phase has it's very own distinctions.
  Of course through time a Blue Moon's appearance was considered unlucky and an omen of things bad to come! Pan's Nightgown!  It deserves some awe but certainly not like that!
  The Blue Moon-whatever phase it may be can be used for most excellent spell work! Anything done on a Blue Moon will last until the next Blue Moon!This can be a great advantage for prosperity and abundance spells.
  A New Blue Moon is all about beginnings-all things starting!  Ideas becoming things, which makes it a Manifestation Moon if you choose!  Personal Growth, Healing, Blessing,New Projects, New Ventures, Initiations, Cleansing and consecrating.
  A Full Blue Moon is ideas and projects coming to Fruition, Maximum focus, Potency, Celebrations, Consecrations, Initiations, Blessings.
